We would like to warmly invite individuals and delegates from groups to Autonomous Youth Camp (AYC) this summer! It will be from 23rd-30th July in Leeds.
AYC is a space for all revolutionary youth to take part in an autonomous week of training, skillshares, workshops, strategising, communal living and socialising.
We are autonomous – we live communally in this space, sharing the joy in resisting a hyper individualist, hostile capitalist system. In order to practice democratic structures, we work with each other to organise the space, do chores, and run sessions, helping to create a liberating educational space.
We are youth only – bringing together curious, hopeful and energetic young people (self-defined) from across the country with radical ideas and action.
We are non-partisan, so please leave your newspapers at the door! This is a camp for sharing education and resources with the fire of revolutionary youth holding us together, so divisive behaviour based on party recrutiment and infighting is not fit for our space.
We aim for the camp to be a regenerative space for education and conversations – about practical skills, reflection, long-term strategy and internationalism. We aim to facilitate a shift away from university-student-centered politics and urgency culture, with the intention to lay long term foundations for young organisers to build on collective knowledge and relationships and to grow confidence.
We will be camping in a park, although we will endeavour to find alternative accomodation if needed. If you express this on the registration form, we will be in touch and arrange accordingly.
If you are interested then please read through our AYC Positions & Values Statement and our Statement of Purpose before registering your interest or sharing with comrades, as these policies help you better understand our expectations of everyone who takes part in the camp. You can sign up for the camp here – we ask attendees to register so we know numbers for food, and to assign people within our commune structure.
Feel free to email aycamp@proton.me if you have any questions or access needs not already mentioned.
We hope to see you soon!
