In 2026 we held our fifth gathering in a lovely park near Leeds. Despite the damage caused by the particularly dry, hot summer, we were nicely tucked away behind a field of long grass, and surrounded by the shade of some beautiful woodlands. With our regular workshop marquees, field kitchen and composting loos, setup was smooth and our infrastructure held up well in the strong winds.
We welcomed many new faces and old, enjoyed a delicious variety of creative meals, made great technological advances in the use of a projector for a film night, and ended the week with a slightly non-traditional campfire, limited by the drought.
A new structure to the timetable was trialled, with two days being devoted to full-day-long sessions, allowing us to delve deeper into certain topics than we had previously been able to. We also included timetabled slots for caucuses to meet, ensuring that these spaces could be held daily and with enough time for productive discussion.
